SITUATION

In 2019, Pastor David Jeremiah’s Turning Point Ministries developed a five-city live arena tour to launch his new book, Overcomer. Turning Point asked Pillar to create an email marketing strategy to increase turnout at each of these events, specifically by reducing the declining ratio between free ticket requests and actual live attendance. GOAL: Increase turnout at each of the five arena events for this tour.

ACTION

Relying on intimate knowledge about Christian audience values and Turning Point’s unique voice and purpose, Pillar sent a sequence of geographically targeted emails for each of the five tour cities. These successfully elevated the importance of the event, minimized details that kept people from attending and boosted overall attendance beyond a previous tour. “We love leveraging our knowledge of both our clients and their audiences to address these kinds of challenges,” says Pillar Marketing Director Stephanie Smith.

RESULTS

  • 10% increase in attendance year-over-year

  • 7% increase in sales email open rate

  • 300% increase in forwarded emails
