The exhibit exploded visibility for the project. It gave us a new way and place to inspire faith and invite participation with all that we’re doing.

SITUATION

Fresno-based Peoples Church launched a three-year, $22 million expansion campaign. It enlisted Pillar Brands to engage its members in donating toward the campaign, especially during the low-visibility planning and permitting stage. GOALS: Align congregants and donors with church leadership, leading to the ongoing support of a lengthy campaign.

ACTION

Pillar Brands proposed converting two high-traffic church hallways into a tactile, museum-style exhibit called the “Hall of Faith.” It used photography, graphics, and text to convey the church’s faithful history, culminating in concept drawings for the current campaign. The completed exhibit included 9-foot-tall displays and 54 linear feet of storytelling on sophisticated, dye sublimation-printed fabric panels.

RESULTS

The “Hall of Faith” proved enormously engaging. To newcomers and guests, this display revealed the church’s character and vision. Members who had already lived through this history became even more passionate as they experienced these spiritual touchstones anew. Planning ahead, Pillar even designed the exhibits to be repurposed after the campaign for future projects and displays. The church immediately engaged Pillar for another campaign installation. The environmental graphics installation won a 2020 Communicator Excellence Award.
